Torrey Young defends clients facing civil and criminal government enforcement actions.  In the courtroom, she has tried federal jury trials that received national attention relating to false statements, securities, wire, and tax fraud charges.  She has skillfully argued motions, cross-examined fact and expert witnesses, and been integral to the oral and written advocacy for clients. Torrey played a key role at sentencing in one of the biggest cryptocurrency cases in history.

In the health care and life sciences space, her skills extend to conducting internal investigations, providing Anti-Kickback Statute analyses, implementing compliance programs, advising on Medicare/Medicaid issues, and defending False Claims Act  (FCA) claims.  Torrey recently secured a declination of criminal prosecution for a lab management company, and a dismissal of a qui tam case prior to trial for a health system provider group.  In the words of one client, "Torrey, your insight and expertise was essential to our success."  She also secured summary determination in her nursing home owner client's favor for several health care counts in a special proceeding brought by the New York Attorney General's Office.  Torrey has guided a wide range of health and life science clients, including: individual health care providers and companies, health systems, laboratories, researchers, home health agencies, hospices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, telehealth companies, marketers, management service companies, pharmacies, and DMEPOS suppliers with issues that extend to the FCA, Stark, AKS, EKRA, EMTALA, and CMP Law.

Her representation of clients in many industries reflects her versatility as a lawyer and problem solver. She has also represented individuals in energy, academia, cryptocurrency, and financial services, including clients facing FCPA, FARA, bribery, RICO, and SEC violation allegations.  Torrey is experienced navigating the Office of Inspector General, state Attorney General offices, United States Attorney's Offices, and the Department of Justice.

Prior to joining Mukasey Young, Torrey was a Senior Counsel in the health care and government investigations practice groups at a prestigious international firm.
